Novichok poisoning: Couple exposed to nerve agent..

A man and woman found unconscious in Wiltshire were exposed to Novichok - the same nerve agent that poisoned ex-Russian spy Sergei Skripal, police say.

The couple, believed to be Charlie Rowley, 45, and Dawn Sturgess, 44, fell ill at a house in Amesbury on Saturday and remain in a critical condition.

Police say no-one else has presented with the same symptoms.

There was "nothing in their background" to suggest the pair were targeted, the Met Police said.

Home Secretary Sajid Javid has chaired a meeting of the government's emergency Cobra committee to discuss the developments.

Prime Minister Theresa May said her thoughts were with the victims and the government would provide every support to the community.

"The message from Salisbury is clear - it is very much open for business," she added.
    What happened?

On Saturday, paramedics were called twice to a house in Muggleton Road in Amesbury - first at 11:00 BST after Ms Sturgess collapsed, then later the same day, after Mr Rowley also fell ill.

Wiltshire Police said it was initially thought the two patients had been using heroin or crack cocaine from a contaminated batch of drugs.

In the early hours of Wednesday, police declared a "major incident" after revealing the couple had been exposed to an "unknown substance".

By late that evening, Scotland Yard said Novichok was to blame following analysis at the defence research facility at Porton Down, Wiltshire.

Of course Russia will be blamed for the poisoning by the British Gov. It's a load of rubbish and it's clear the finger pointing will start again. It's a setup just like it was with the Skripal's.

Teresa May is like a prostitute, do anything for money she's a conservative

Hi Lads, As predicted the british government and media has already started with slagging off and blaming Russia. That's why I try so hard to take the gov, media and news channels with a pinch of salt. Please explain to me what Russia would gain from poisoning 2 homeless people. Yes it a Load of Rubbish.

Quick, Let's poison 2 homeless people and steal there unemployment money. Now that sound more like a thing the British conservative gov would do to make more cut-backs. Let's use Poison and blame Russia.

I'm Proud to be British - But ashamed of my Government. Total Disgrace

I put forward the English gov, MI5-MI6 a best favorite of my is USA did it with the support or backing from the Gov & MI5/6 clan. But thinking how the USA works, may be the british did it with pressure from America. Both these countries are JEALOUS of Russia.

So you lads ready for football tonight? I hope England win who are they playing? I'm working but don't really watch football. I Guess it's a female thing

Trump said it all after Vladimir Putin meeting. He trust Mr. Putin and rightly so. I will stick my neck out here and would rather trust Vladimir Putin over my Queen of England, Teresa May (or any conservative). Said it before I would never trust any British authorities because they are corrupt in some form shape or way.

Trump is honest and open and Mr. Putin has been known to hang-out with a biker gang, how cool is that
